Lukasz Friedrich (b. 1980) is a Warsaw-based designer and maker whose practice bridges craft, design, and anthropology. A self-taught artisan, his earliest encounters with material took place in the metal workshop of his grandfather and father, where lathes, pneumatic hammers, and archaic saws revealed an unintentional beauty within purely technical environments. This vanished workshop—both playground and apprenticeship—remains a central source of inspiration. Though later academically trained in cultural anthropology, Friedrich’s return to the family workshop marked the beginning of his own creative path.
