Katia works with wood and clay—raw, elemental materials whose expressive power she shapes into poetic objects for daily life. Her sculptural ceramics, though functional, are conceived as artworks: hand-built and wheel-thrown in stoneware, then fired at 1250°C to achieve a rare strength and permanence. Each piece bears the trace of the hand, celebrating both gesture and material integrity. Her practice also extends to wood, explored most notably in the Lovebuch series (2015–2019). Here, carefully selected tree sections from the Jura forest were cut, dried, and meticulously polished over time.
