Each part of those pieces of furniture is hand shaped and textured without using jigs or gauges, as though modeled by a sculptor or a ceramicist.
The use of contrasting textures, colors and treatments that both highlight and alter the qualities of wood is intended to create a trompe-l’oeil effect. The viewers are led to question their senses. While wondering about the nature and / or the unity of the material used, they get a glimpse of the multiple possibilities offered by wood.
