Dança Side Table by Gabriela Campos

The side table “Dança” is a reinterpretation of the work “La Danse” by Henri Matisse, one of the most innovative artists of the 20th century. it is believed that the idea for the composition came about in 1905, while the painter watched some fishermen performing a circle dance, the “Sardana”, on a beach in the south of France. Its base structure alludes to the bodies present in the work. The spheres were used to give movement to the piece and, at the same time, repetition. The intention was to recreate all this soul present in the work, bringing a rhythmic pattern, colors and harmony through an organic and fluid design.
