Hugo Franca

Atelier Hugo França’s principle is to transform trunks, roots and parts of trees that are generally rejected.
In the studio in Trancoso, this raw material is stored to later be chosen by Hugo França, based on its texture and organic form, for various projects.
The artist’s creative process comes from this dialogue with the raw material, and he draws directly on the wood following the paths that were created by nature.
In production, we re-signify the use of the chainsaw by sculpting trunks and roots and give the works a sustainable and sculptural content.
