Pierre-Axel Coulibeuf grew up in France, the son of a businessman and an artist trained at the École des Beaux-Arts. Early on, he displayed a resourceful creativity, excelling in drawing and translating ideas into tangible forms. This early curiosity led him to study landscape design before pursuing interior architecture, laying the foundation for a practice that bridges spatial awareness with sculptural sensibility. Coulibeuf began his professional journey designing bars and restaurants in the hospitality sector, before relocating to London to work with Charles Burnand Gallery under the direction of Simon. There, he honed his understanding of decoration, materials, and craftsmanship at the highest level, ultimately becoming the gallery’s furniture and lighting designer.
