Emilie Lemardeley is a designer with an atypical background. After graduating from Hypokhâgne-Khagne, Sciences-Po, and then the Ecole du Louvre, she moved to London and worked in contemporary art galleries and auction houses such as Sotheby’s. After returning to France in 2012, she developed her creativity within her own company.
She works mainly in crystalline glass and metal. Inspired by the curves and organic forms of Art Nouveau, her creations are all guided by the desire to capture the spontaneity and fragility of curves in motion. She manages to capture the lightness and transparency of crystal glass while infusing each piece with remarkable power and vitality. In this way, she reveals plays of light and color, creating a subtle dance that captivates the eye. Like great sculptures, powerful and moving at the same time, her creations are enduring symbols of beauty and strength.
She has been touring France for 12 years now so that her objects can be made by the finest craftsmen. From these exchanges with artisans come unique pieces, 100% French and 100% handcrafted. Favoring handwork and uniqueness, there’s nothing repetitive or industrial about her creations. Each piece varies according to the gesture that shapes it, the temperature of the kiln, the hammering on the anvil.
