The Bolete side table. A serendipitous pairing of elements defined through two separate means of practice. The base, a natural granite boulder with cut and polished ends. The top, a heavily worked piece of timber liquid in appearance. Both coming together to make this curiously organic object.
The top is finished with many coats of calligraphy ink, assuming a hidden silhouette when in shadow, and becoming almost metallic in the presence of direct light. The stone base remains natural in finish.
