The donut table was born from the Challenge of using vast quantities of factory waste end boards – cut offs from either ends of solid wood long boards that are discarded to eliminate cracks, checks or warping. To create the donut the boards are arranged in a carefully engineered pattern and then carved by a CNC into the donut form. The arrangement of the boards throws up a unique flux of grain patterns that make each donut table distinct, and delicious to look at.
The donut table is part of the collection, Dessert Menu by soft-geometry, featuring solid wood pieces that each explore different notions of sweet in a succinctly curated menu meant to inspire (sugar) highs!
