Christopher Boots is an Australian designer and founder of his eponymous Melbourne-based studio, whose practice explores the intersection of light, materiality, and sculpture. Established in 2011, the studio has developed a distinctive design language inspired by geology, mythology, architecture, and the natural world, creating collectible lighting, furniture, and objects that merge traditional craftsmanship with contemporary innovation. Guided by an enduring fascination with quartz crystal and the transformative qualities of light, Boots approaches each work as both a functional object and a sculptural expression.
Working with a diverse team of artisans, including glassblowers, bronze casters, sculptors, and metalsmiths, Christopher Boots combines time-honoured techniques with material experimentation to create works distinguished by their rich narratives, refined craftsmanship, and striking architectural presence. Characterized by an exploration of geometry, symmetry, and natural form, his practice blurs the boundaries between art, design, and architecture, resulting in timeless pieces that transform the spaces they inhabit.
