Borja Barrajon Acedo (Madrid 1985) began his training as a sculptor at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Madrid in 2006. His passion for stone as an artistic medium has been reflected in a career marked by dedication and innovation. From his first steps in national competitions and contests, Barrajón has stood out for his ability to fuse sculptural tradition with a contemporary vision. Among his achievements are the Manuel Martínez Bragagnolo sculpture first prize in 2009 and 2011, as well as recognition in the young artists’ circuit in 2013. More recently, Barrajón has been recognized with numerous awards and distinctions, including the International Urban Sculpture Competition of the City of Pamplona in 2023, where he inaugurated the sculptural ensemble ‘1423’. That same year he was also awarded the Cosentino Prize III International Sculpture Competition CAPA in Madrid.
His work has been exhibited in various galleries and art fairs in Spain and abroad, receiving praise from both critics and collectors.With solo shows such as “La identidad de la forma” (2017) and “El silencio de la materia” (2022), Borja Barrajón has consolidated his position as one of the most promising talents in the current art scene. Currently, Barrajón develops his work in his studio located on the outskirts of Madrid, continuing to explore the creative possibilities offered by the world of art.
