Galerie Philia is pleased to highlight Tingen i tiden, the first museum exhibition dedicated to Lucas Tyra Morten.

At the intersection of art, design and craft, Lucas and Tyra Morten develop a deeply personal practice in which objects emerge from lived experience. Furniture is not conceived as an isolated exercise in form, but as something shaped by necessity, intimacy and the rhythms of everyday life.

Their work embraces the passage of time as an active material. Wood, metal and other surfaces are allowed to change through touch and use, accumulating marks, patina and traces of presence. Rather than seeking permanence or perfection, Lucas and Tyra explore a quieter form of beauty, one that appears gradually through repetition, wear and attention.

In this sense, the handmade becomes more than a method of production. It is a way of restoring a direct relationship between body, material and object, at a moment when our environments are increasingly mediated by technology.

Bringing together early experimental works and more recent pieces from their shared practice, Tingen i tiden traces the emergence of a language that is at once elemental, tactile and profoundly domestic, one in which the object is never entirely finished, but continues to be formed by life itself.
