Edward Collinson 5 Picks From Philia Collection

Edward Collinson is a London-based artist, designer, and furniture maker whose practice sits at the intersection of fine art and collectible design. Trained as a painter at Central Saint Martins, he began creating experimental furniture in 2012, developing a distinctive body of work that combines sculptural expression with functional craftsmanship.

Working from his London studio, Collinson and his team produce bespoke commissions and made-to-order pieces for collectors, galleries, and interior designers worldwide. Crafted entirely in-house, his work is defined by a hands-on approach to making, where artistic exploration, materiality, and furniture design converge.

“I love the long and low proportions and the clean aesthetic of the large couch by Marc Dibeh.”

“I really appreciate the rift table for its use of material. The structural details follow such a simple logic that the materials can really speak effectively.”

“Whats not to love about Benoit Viaenes organic approach? The pieces feel like product of the heart. That’s a pretty rare thing.”

“I am a huge fan of silver and the lamps by Ohla Studio really let the material speak for itself.”

“I’m always a fan of expressive qualities where form is treated with a sense of fluidity, like a piece of gum being stretched or an emotion being heightened.”
