portrait Jan Garncarek

Jan Garncarek

Jan Garncarek is a Polish designer and maker whose work exists at the intersection of sculpture, craftsmanship, and functional design. Based in Poland, he creates collectible furniture and objects distinguished by their strong geometric forms, material honesty, and architectural sensibility. Rooted in a hands-on approach to making, his practice embraces experimentation and an intimate understanding of materials, allowing each piece to evolve through the process of construction.

Working primarily with wood and natural materials, Garncarek develops works that balance utility with artistic expression. His furniture often reveals a dialogue between structure and form, combining refined craftsmanship with a sculptural presence. Through this approach, he creates objects that celebrate the tactile qualities of handmade production while exploring the enduring relationship between material, space, and function.
