    1. Where were you born and where are you from ?

    I’m from the Netherlands, born and living in Amsterdam

    2. What is your first memory connected to the art world ?

    My first interest in Art started young , going with my parents to museums to see installations, objects paintings and graphic design, going through the proces of first starting to like classic and end up in  more modern art.

    3. Have you always worked in the art/design field ?

    Yes, when I did the academy of Art and Design, I started as a designer in fashion and Interieur. From there I became a more specialized Interior designer, following that I did  Object designs for Interior companies with always a big interest in light objects.
    And I started my own studio for object design 4 years ago.

    4. What led you to the design creation ?

    I always wanted to create things or settings from very early on, drawings, interior or fashion
    From there it was a proces, first working on designs fitting the style of the companies I’ve worked for, with a growing need to design my specific own style light Objects, that has always been in my mind.

    5. How would you describe your creative process and it influences ?

    I’ve been always fascinated by light objects, forms, colors and authentic materials.
    It always starts with a shape,  from there the process starts to create
    A light objects with always in mind of Being  decorative art object on their own, but always can be used in multiple numbers of objects together to create a total new  and always different art object.
    The light function is always the ‘extra’ dimension
    About influences…I love graphic repeating structures and designs but always with a touch of decor or pattern and refined rawness.

    6. Could you describe a typical day of your work ?

    Early morning doing the ‘office’ part of the work, after this ; working on
    Objects for clients and working on new objects and designs

    7. Why did you choose the specific materials you work with ?

    I really like to work with authentic materials, like iron, brass, leather, wood, ceramic, linen
    all with their own color and structures. Sometimes I find a beautiful component somewhere, and start the design proces around that material or piece…..

    8. What are the technical particularities of your creations ?

    All my light objects are always made by myself by hand in every detail, and always a little different one to the other, hand created ceramic, hand colors fabrics, details of inlayed leather.

    9. What advices could you give to beginning artists who would like to create sculptural design works ?

    Try to a lot, never give up, persist, and when the time is right you will succeed in the way you like the objects to be.

    10. If your works had to belong to a design movement, in which one would you define it ?

    I think a bit of all of them

    11. What designers have influenced you ?

    from Bauhaus to Tony Duquette, Gaudi, Andrew lloyd wright and many more

    12. What contemporary designers do you appreciate ?

    There are so many….Alexis Christodoulou, Herve van der Straeten, Noro Khachatryan, Nata Janberidze / Keto Toloraia and many more….

    13. What contemporary artists (in any kind of art) have you been inspired by ?

    Again many designers, from Gaudi to Bauhaus , from Tony duquette to Andrew Lloyd wright And so on….

    14. If you had to summarize your creations in one word or sentence, what would it be ?

    Light objects with multiple possibility’s in composition to create total new objects

    15. Is there anything you would like to add ?

    As a younger me, but with the knowledge of now

    Alternate in south and north of Europe

    It’s not a possession But it will be Liv

    Live in fear

    Designing artist with a large working budget

    Positivity, down to earth mentality
