Fabiola Laccisaglia is a designer and art director born in Como in 1993. She holds a degree in Industrial Design from the Politecnico di Milano. Fabiola began her career as a stylist for various companies, including Marzotto, before joining the style department at Poliform, one of the leading brands in the luxury furniture industry.
With years of experience in the field, Fabiola founded Studionudo, a design studio focused on creating everyday objects that preserve the essence of raw materials. The studio emphasizes a connection between nature and design, collaborating with Italian artisans to craft unique, timeless pieces that foster a deep relationship between objects and the people who live with them.
1. Where were you born and where are you from ?
I was born and raised in Italy, in a small town in the Brianza area, between Como and Milan.
2. What is your first memory connected to the art world ?
As a child, I often spent time in the furniture showroom where my mom worked. That’s where I began to appreciate this world of materials, shapes, and colors.
3. Have you always worked in the art/design field, and what led you to the design creation ?
Yes, I graduated in Product Design from the Politecnico di Milano. In the first few years, I worked with a stylist in the textile and furniture world. Later, I was lucky to spend many years in the creative department of one of the most important Italian furniture companies, Poliform. Where I learned a lot.
4. What led you to the design creation ?
I’ve always loved drawing, and it was mostly objects that I drew.
5. How would you describe your creative process and it influences ?
Everything around me inspires me, especially natural elements and textures. I start by sketching my ideas, then I spend a lot of time in artisan workshops, working closely with the materials and the craftspeople.
6. Could you describe a typical day of your work ?
It’s hard to describe a typical day, no two are ever the same. There are times when I focus more on prototype production, and others when I work more on marketing, communication, and photo shoots.
7. Why did you choose the specific materials you work with ?
Materials inspire me the most, they spark many creative ideas. But I’ll definitely explore others too. I always enjoy taking on new adventures.


8. What are the technical particularities of your creations ?
My creations stand out for their high level of craftsmanship, which in some cases, incorporates advanced modern technologies.
9. What advices could you give to beginning artists who would like to create sculptural design works ?
First, study the material and understand its potential, only then can you define its shape.
10. If your works had to belong to a design movement, in which one would you define it ?
I feel more connected to modern organic architecture.
11. What designers and artists have influenced you ?
The first ones that come to mind are: Charlotte Perriand, Charles and Ray Eames, Isamu Noguchi.
12. What contemporary designers do you appreciate ?
I really like the works of Sabine Marcelis and Patricia Urquiola.
13. What contemporary artists (in any kind of art) have you been inspired by ?
Takayuki Sakiyama, Agustina Ros, Bo arenander, Marta Armengol and so many others.
14. If you had to summarize your creations in one word or sentence, what would it be ?
I prefer to let the products speak for themselves.
