Studio IB Milano

Ina Borisova is the founder and creative mind behind Studio IB Milano. Her background connects the worlds of product engineering and interior design, allowing her to bring a unique combination of technical precision and artistic expression to her work. Her journey began with a focus on product engineering, where she developed a deep understanding of the mechanics and functionality of well-designed products. At Studio IB Milano, she strives to create designs that are not only functional but also inspiring, blending her technical expertise and creative vision to craft spaces and products that truly resonate. Motivated by a desire to create one-of-a-kind and truly unique designs, she founded Studio IB Milano as a platform to express hee ideas. Her work is characterized by a harmonious blend of form and function, seamlessly integrating practicality with captivating aesthetics. In 2019, her dedication and passion culminated in the launch of a collection of exclusive, tailor-made art furniture. Pushing boundaries and exploring new concepts is at the heart of what she does. Through Studio IB Milano, she continues to craft bespoke design pieces that leave a lasting impression.
1. Where were you born and where are you from ?
Originally from Sofia, I relocated to Milan to pursue studies at the Politecnico di Milano, where I am currently based and which I now consider my artistic home.
2. What is your first memory connected to the art world ?
My connection to the art world doesn’t have a “first” memory; rather, it’s an ongoing journey that unfolds and evolves every day.
3. Have you always worked in the art/design field ?
For me Design is not a work— it’s a passion, a vocation, a lifestyle. It’s a part of me, and it is who I am.
4. What led you to the design creation ?
My desire is to convey how I perceive space and objects.
5. How would you describe your creative process and it influences ?
The creative process is fuelled by an instinctive urge to reshape and reimagine—transforming a simple line, shape or object into something entirely new. I seek to breathe new life into these elements, infusing them with fresh meanings, purposes, and possibilities, inviting them to transcend their original boundaries and become something uniquely expressive.
6. Could you describe a typical day of your work ?
Every day is unique.
7. Why did you choose the specific materials you work with ?
Marble is a divine material—the soul of our world. Each piece holds traces of time and eternal strength. As a living material, its colors and veins heighten our emotions. It opens our eyes to the beauty and mystery of the universe. Every block is a canvas that transforms into a sculpture when idea meets matter.

8. What are the technical particularities of your creations ?
Durable to the point of near eternity, yet with a pure touch of beauty, my creations are truly unique pieces of art furniture (sculptures). I believe my works can be felt; there is no need for explanation.
9. What advices could you give to beginning artists who would like to create sculptural design works ?
Be yourself and don’t be afraid to follow your own ideas. You can’t be unique if you’re trying to be like everyone else.

Modernism and Minimalism.
