Janine Carendi MacMurray

Janine Carendi MacMurray is the founder of AREA Interior Design, a New York-based interior design studio she established in 2006. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, she also studied decorative arts in Paris. Having grown up between Sweden, Mexico, Colombia, and Connecticut, MacMurray developed an international perspective that continues to inform her work, with Scandinavian design holding a particular influence on her aesthetic.

Her experience with auction houses and travels in search of antiques has further shaped her knowledge of historical and cultural styles, as well as her passion for collecting, which extends to her collection through Carendi MacMurray. Through AREA Interior Design, she creates interiors that balance refinement with practicality and places particular importance on lasting relationships with her clients. Alongside her practice, MacMurray has also taught at Parsons, where she has contributed to educating and mentoring emerging designers.

“I’m less interested in creating a signature style than in creating homes that feel inevitable: personal to the family, honest to the architecture, and collected over time.”

Irene Goldberg photo Dan Perez

Irene Goldberg

Irene Goldberg has built a practice that crosses architecture, interiors and collectible design, moving between the conception of spaces and the creation of objects. Born in Venezuela in 1970, she relocated to Israel in 1983 and later studied at the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow, graduating in 1997. This ability to work across different scales has become integral to her approach, in which architecture and object-making are understood as part of a continuous creative language shaped by simplicity, materiality and emotional experience.

Goldberg co-founded Baranowitz & Goldberg Architects in 2017 before establishing her independent studio in 2025. Today, she works from the heart of Tel Aviv, where she shares a design gallery with her partner in life, Gal Gaon. The space provides a setting for her evolving collections of collectible design while remaining connected to her ongoing architectural and interior projects, allowing the different aspects of her practice to develop alongside one another.

Amarist Studio Aran Lozano

Amarist Studio

Amarist Studio is an art and collectible design practice led by Spanish artist Aran Lozano, whose work explores the relationship between material transformation, landscape, and the passage of time. Rooted in the natural environment of the Pyrenees, his practice moves between sculpture and functional design, examining how materials can carry traces of memory, change, and place.

Working primarily with alabaster, concrete, light, and wood, Lozano draws inspiration from geological processes such as erosion and fossilization and the continuous transformation of natural landscapes. Combining traditional handcraft, digital technologies, and material experimentation, he creates works that often evoke archaeological remains of imagined futures, reflecting on the fragility of ecosystems, the memory of materials, and nature’s capacity to transform over time.
