Founded by Marten and Joost, Plasticiet emerged from an inquiry into the latent potential of plastic waste and a commitment to actively address the realities of global plastic pollution. The studio challenges the limitations of conventional recycling, where insufficient infrastructure and a lack of aesthetic ambition often undermine true sustainability. In a world shaped by overproduction and disposability, Plasticiet seeks to reintroduce a sense of permanence through thoughtfully designed recycled panels and objects.

Central to the practice is the belief that sustainability must be accompanied by desirability. Responsible production and respect for material origins inform every design decision, with the ambition to make recycling both beautiful and scalable rather than merely symbolic. Plasticiet’s work demonstrates that recycled materials can endure, performing with the presence and refinement of high-end virgin alternatives.

What began as modest material experiments has evolved into a sophisticated production process, shaped by curiosity, collaboration, and rigorous hands-on testing. Precision, craft, and innovation define the studio’s approach. Each piece is handmade and produced to order in the Delft workshop, ensuring flexibility, minimizing excess stock, and enabling bespoke commissions. From collectible one-off works to architectural and retail series, Plasticiet accompanies projects from concept through realization, offering tangible materials designed to be shaped, adapted, and enduringly valued.
