NEO/CRAFT is a Berlin-based furniture label founded in 2015 by designer Sebastian Scherer, conceived as a platform for the dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary production techniques. The studio approaches design as an evolving process, challenging established perceptions of material, form, and function in order to reveal new and unexpected possibilities.
At the core of NEO/CRAFT’s practice lies a rigorous commitment to material exploration and process-driven development. Each project is informed by experimentation, where conventional methods are questioned and reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. While current collections focus primarily on metal, glass, and wood, these materials are treated as dynamic and open-ended, allowing their inherent properties to guide the design outcome.
Innovation remains central to the label’s ethos, not as a pursuit of novelty, but as a means of expanding the expressive and functional potential of design. Through a balance of precision, craftsmanship, and conceptual clarity, NEO/CRAFT continues to explore new directions, fostering a design language that is both rooted in making and forward-looking in its ambition.
