Thomas Trad is a Beirut-based product designer whose work is driven by a deep fascination with manufacturing processes, craftsmanship, and the inherent beauty of materials. Educated at Central Saint Martins in London and the Suikoushya International Craft School in Kyoto, Trad developed a strong foundation that bridges contemporary design thinking with traditional making techniques. His professional experience includes working with internationally renowned studios such as Fredrikson Stallard and Michael Anastassiades, where he refined his sensitivity to form, proportion, and material expression.
In 2016, Trad returned to his native Beirut to establish his own design studio, bringing with him a hybrid approach shaped by global influences. His aesthetic combines organic and abstract forms, balancing familiarity with experimentation. Drawing inspiration from Japanese culture, Art Deco, and modernist principles, his work explores refined silhouettes, tactile surfaces, and innovative finishes.
Through continual material research and technical exploration, Trad creates furniture and objects that are striking yet restrained. His evolving body of work has positioned him as one of Beirut’s most compelling emerging voices in contemporary design.
