Lucie Koldova philia

Lucie Koldova is a Czech designer internationally recognised for a poetic and emotionally resonant approach to lighting and furniture. Born in 1983, she studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague before establishing her early practice in Paris and later returning to the Czech Republic. Her work is distinguished by a refined exploration of materiality and form, bringing together traditional craftsmanship and contemporary expression with a distinctive sensitivity to atmosphere, proportion, and light.

Koldova’s designs unfold through an elegant dialogue between glass and complementary materials including wood, metal, and textiles. Transparency, reflection, and subtle contrasts of texture become expressive tools through which she explores the relationship between light, space, and human experience. Balancing technical precision with warmth and sensuality, her work possesses a quiet yet compelling presence. As Art Director of Brokis, she has played a defining role in advancing contemporary Czech glassmaking, uniting centuries old savoir faire with innovative techniques and a distinctly modern aesthetic.
