Sylvia Eustache Rools is an artist and designer whose practice explores material, natural phenomena, and ancestral gesture. Together with Jérôme Pereira, she founded AWARÉ, a collaborative practice rooted in a shared fascination with geological forces and humanity’s place within the planet’s cyclical systems. Since 2013, their intuitive collaboration has brought together Pereira’s woodworking and Eustache Rools’ textile-based approach, creating sculptural objects shaped by natural transformation and the gestures of the hand.

Through an interplay of elemental techniques, their works evoke fragments of the earth while recalling the archetypal form of the container. Positioned between geological and archaeological time, these pieces blur the boundaries between object, sculpture, and ritual form. AWARÉ has received international recognition, including the Kit Kemp Firmdale One to Watch prize at COLLECT in London in 2018, and was a finalist for the 2022 LOEWE Craft Prize, affirming their distinctive contribution to contemporary craft and sculptural design.
