Dutch designer Sander Bottinga has cultivated a design practice guided by a longstanding fascination with lightness, form, color, and the expressive potential of authentic materials. With an enduring commitment to making by hand, his work reflects a sensitive balance between craftsmanship and contemporary design.
Over the course of more than two decades, Bottinga refined his approach within leading interior and design studios, developing a nuanced understanding of material behavior, proportion, and atmosphere. This extensive experience culminated in the creation of his own collection of interior objects, each conceived with clarity and intention.
Produced in limited series and often realized in collaboration with small artisan workshops, Bottinga’s objects are meticulously handcrafted, allowing each piece to retain a distinct identity. Subtle variations inherent to the making process are embraced, lending warmth and individuality to the work. His designs invite both tactile and visual engagement, seamlessly integrating artistic expression with functional purpose.
In addition to his core collection, Bottinga offers bespoke commissions for private clients and design projects. This flexibility allows each object to be thoughtfully adapted to its context, ensuring a resonant dialogue between form, material, and space.
