Square in Circle philia

Founded in 2020 by Alesia Sirokina, Square in Circle is a lighting studio exploring the relationship between geometry, movement, and poetic expression. Inspired by dance and Oskar Schlemmer’s 1922 Bauhaus ballet, the studio’s work examines how form, space, and perspective interact. Its inaugural design, Dance of Geometry, established a visual language that continues to shape the practice.

Balancing symmetry and asymmetry, flatness and depth, Square in Circle creates compositions that appear to shift as the viewer moves around them. A restrained vocabulary of forms and materials gives each piece a sense of dynamic elegance. Under Sirokina’s direction, sculptural lighting combines brushed brass, cool-toned metals, and frosted glass, creating a dialogue between warmth and precision. Drawing on her background in interior architecture and more than a decade of architectural practice, Sirokina unites refined aesthetics, engineering precision, and meticulous craftsmanship in each work.
