Nazara Lázaro is a designer whose work transforms objects and interiors into sculptural environments, guided by intuition and an experimental approach to materials and techniques. Born and raised in Tenerife and now based between Barcelona and Berlin, her practice is shaped by a life of movement across cultures, territories, and traditions, each leaving a distinct imprint on her evolving design language.
After studying at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid, Lázaro spent nearly two years in Japan, where she gained hands-on experience in traditional woodworking, architecture, and exhibition design. Inspired by the historic narrative of the Silk Road, she later returned to Europe by land, traveling through China and Central Asia. This journey deepened her understanding of the interconnected rituals, habits, and material cultures encountered along the way.
These experiences are woven into her objects, interiors, sets, and ephemeral installations, which reflect influences ranging from Japanese craftsmanship and the volcanic landscape of the Canary Islands to the dynamic creative energy of Berlin, alongside a personal exploration of femininity. Bridging the physical and the intangible, Lázaro integrates 3D design as a research and visualization tool, advancing her exploration of form and materiality. In 2023, she founded HENADS, a creative practice dedicated to immersive virtual environments imbued with a distinctly human-made sensitivity.
