Barbara Palatin-Doyle is an artist and the founder of Studio Palatin, specializing in handcrafted, sculptural lighting produced in limited editions. Born and raised in Vienna, she lives and works between Vienna and New York, and also serves as a docent in the Decorative Arts Department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Her practice centers on table lamps and candlesticks, conceived as functional art objects that merge contemporary design with the refined craftsmanship of the 17th and 18th centuries. Drawing inspiration from historic luxury objects, Palatin-Doyle distills their essence into modern forms, honoring traditional techniques while reinterpreting them for the present.

Working with noble materials such as porcelain, bronze, gold, silver, glass, and Japanese paper, her designs balance sculptural presence with practical use. Each piece reflects a dialogue between past and present—luxurious yet restrained objects that celebrate material richness, artisanal skill, and timeless elegance.
