N I S H is a Cape Town–based design studio dedicated to creating contemporary furniture that is at once elegant, progressive, and deeply human. The practice embraces the tension between the pursuit of perfection and the inherent imperfections of natural materials and artisanal craftsmanship, resulting in works that evolve uniquely within each environment and with each individual who lives alongside them.
Founded by Tanisha Neill, the studio reflects her multidisciplinary creativity and refined artistic sensibility. Before entering the world of design, Neill trained in classical ballet and contemporary dance, disciplines that shaped her sensitivity to rhythm, balance, and movement. She later pursued Interior Design and earned a Master’s degree in Design Innovation and Product Design, bringing depth and rigor to her practice.
Under her direction, N I S H produces furniture defined by precision, material integrity, and quiet poetry—objects that unite function, beauty, and timeless durability.
