Designer Tero Kuitunen (b. 1986) operates at the intersection of design and art, exploring unexpected juxtapositions, spatial narratives, and the role of humour, touch, and emotion in contemporary design. His practice spans product, concept, and interior design, as well as exhibition making and artistic projects, all unified by a desire to create work that resonates on a human level.
Kuitunen holds a Master’s degree in Applied Arts from Aalto University’s School of Art, Design and Architecture. He has collaborated with a wide range of clients, including Supercell, Absolut Vodka, and Hakola, bringing a playful yet thoughtful sensibility to both commercial and cultural projects. Working as a freelance designer, he draws heavily on material exploration and bold use of colour as starting points for his creative process.
Internationally active, Kuitunen has participated in exhibitions and fairs across Europe and Asia. He curated the touring exhibition Wild at Heart (2019–2020) and later co-created an exhibition at the Amos Rex Museum in Helsinki. His work seeks to surprise, delight, and gently provoke—inviting curiosity through form, colour, and humour.
