Raquel Vidal Pedro Paz philia

Canoa Lab. is a collaborative studio founded through the shared practices of Raquel Vidal and Pedro Paz, whose work emerges from sustained artistic research and a deep engagement with material culture. Bringing together backgrounds in painting, sculpture, and image-making, the duo explores the relationship between space, time, and the role of objects in shaping human experience. Their practice moves fluidly between art and design, guided by curiosity and material history.

Metal and clay form the foundation of their research, valued for both their tactile qualities and cultural significance. Within the studio, making becomes a slow, attentive process of experimentation and exchange. Drawing, archival research, observation, and hands-on techniques unfold alongside glazing, beeswax casting, and hybrid materials. Rather than following a linear methodology, Canoa Lab. works through accumulation and association, approaching objects almost archaeologically. Fragments, traces, and processes converge into a living cartography—open to reinterpretation, where thought and making continuously shape one another.
