dAM Atelier is an experimental design studio working at the intersection of architecture and furniture design. Founded by Paolo d’Alessandro (b.1993) and Marco Malgarini (b.1993), the studio explores the sculptural and structural possibilities of form, translating architectural concepts into collectible design pieces.
The two designers met during their studies at the renowned Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio in Switzerland, where they developed a shared foundation in aesthetic research and technical mastery. Their foray into furniture design began as an extension of architectural projects, becoming a fertile ground for experimenting with scale, material, and composition.
The studio’s works are characterized by bold geometric elements and sculptural forms that challenge perceptions of gravity and structure. Overlapping planes, dynamic volumes, and structural tension are distilled into compositions of striking minimalist purity, concealing the complexity of their engineering.
