dAM Atelier is an Italian design studio founded by Paolo d’Alessandro and Marco Malgarini, whose practice operates at the intersection of architecture, art, and collectible design. Emerging from a shared architectural education at the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio, the duo approaches furniture as a medium for spatial and structural experimentation, translating architectural ideas into sculptural, functional objects.
Characterized by rigorous geometries, balanced proportions, and a refined sense of composition, dAM Atelier’s work investigates the relationship between volume, weight, and perception. Through the interplay of intersecting planes, cantilevered forms, and carefully engineered structures, the studio creates pieces that appear both monumental and light. Their practice reflects a continuous exploration of how architectural thinking can be distilled into collectible objects that challenge conventional notions of form, function, and stability.
