Studio ANANSI, founded in 2018 by Canadian-born designer and artist Evan Jerry, is a contemporary design practice that reexamines modernity through an Afrocentric lens. The studio seeks to uncover cultural narratives and aesthetic influences often overlooked within contemporary design. Named after Anansi, the spider figure of West African and Caribbean folklore associated with storytelling and knowledge, the studio places narrative at the heart of its practice.

Drawing on Jerry’s early connection to Anansi’s stories and his global experiences, Studio ANANSI translates cultural research into sculptural and architectural objects conceived as vessels for new narratives. Its work has been developed in collaboration with brands including CB2 and TRNK New York, and featured internationally in publications such as Wallpaper, Architectural Digest, and Interior Design. Presented at platforms including London Design Festival, the studio continues to contribute a distinctive, culturally grounded perspective to contemporary collectible design.
