TIPSTUDIO is a design studio founded by Imma Matera and Tommaso Lucarini, distinguished by a rigorous, research-driven practice that investigates the expressive and conceptual potential of materials and production processes. Operating between Florence and Pietrasanta, the studio is deeply informed by the cultural, artisanal, and geological character of its surrounding territories, positioning its work at the intersection of design, art, and critical inquiry.
At the core of TIPSTUDIO’s methodology lies experimentation. Each project begins with an analysis of physical and immaterial landscapes—drawing from anthropological observation, local narratives, and conceptual research—which are then translated into objects, spaces, and installations of refined material presence. The studio’s work balances intellectual depth with formal clarity, resulting in pieces that are both investigative and sensorial.
TIPSTUDIO’s practice encompasses furniture design, collectible objects, and site-responsive installations, alongside creative consultancy and research collaborations. Their work spans industrial production for established companies as well as limited-edition collections developed with galleries, private clients, and brands.
In 2022, the studio was selected for Talent on Show by Elle Decor during Milan Design Week. Imma Matera and Tommaso Lucarini currently teach Product Design at IED Florence.
