Mickaël Koska is a Marseille-based designer whose instinctive practice is rooted in material exploration, Mediterranean culture, and a deep respect for craftsmanship. Self-taught and later refined through his experience at the École Boulle, he established his studio in Marseille in 2013, developing a distinctive body of work shaped by the character of his surroundings.

Koska collaborates closely with local artisans, drawing on ancestral Mediterranean and French savoir-faire to create contemporary pieces with a strong sculptural presence. Natural materials—including mineral, raw, translucent, and clay-based elements—are carefully selected from local resources and transformed according to their inherent qualities. Inspired by Mediterranean landscapes, textures, and vernacular architecture, his work balances generous forms with a restrained yet expressive language. Rich hues of deep purple, sea green, and warm ochre reflect the southern coast, bringing a vivid sense of place to each collection. Through material honesty and refined craftsmanship, Koska transforms regional influences into poetic, contemporary design.
