Brian Fireman is an American designer and craftsman specializing in handcrafted contemporary furniture. Trained in architecture at Virginia Tech, Fireman developed an early fascination with the relationship between structure, construction, and material, while his experience building traditional timber-frame structures introduced him to woodworking and joinery. Seeking a more direct connection between designing and making, he founded Brian Fireman Design in 2003 and today works from his studio in the mountains of western North Carolina.

Working primarily with wood, Fireman allows the natural character of the material to guide each piece, balancing structural clarity with sculptural and sensual forms. His furniture draws inspiration from nature, travel, and the inherent qualities of individual woods, with an emphasis on careful material selection, precise craftsmanship, and longevity. Each piece is handcrafted and made to order, reflecting Fireman’s belief in creating furniture designed to endure for generations while celebrating the beauty and individuality of the material itself.
