Fict Studio, founded in Seoul in 2016 by designer Heakyoung Jang, is guided by the idea “From Craft to Industry.” With a background in industrial design, Jang explores how craft can evolve as a contemporary resource, merging cultural heritage with modern processes. Her work reinterprets traditional techniques through material experimentation, creating pieces that carry both tactile and emotional resonance.
Signature collections include the Nacre Series, combining mother-of-pearl and resin; the Fragment Series, fusing marble fragments within resin compositions; and the Loess Series, uniting loess and straw with jesmonite. Through these and other projects, Fict Studio demonstrates how craft and design can expand meaning in modern life while balancing tradition, innovation, and poetic form.
