Tolga Sencer (b. 1985, Istanbul) is an interior architect and furniture designer whose practice is grounded in both professional rigor and personal expression. A graduate of Bilkent University’s Interior Architecture and Environmental Design program (2009), Sencer relocated to Istanbul to begin his career, where over the past decade he has collaborated with Turkey’s leading architectural firms. Working as both interior designer and project director, he has gained a comprehensive understanding of spatial design, from concept development to execution.
Parallel to his architectural practice, Sencer has cultivated a long-standing engagement with artisan furniture design. This body of work emerged from a desire to reconnect with design on a more instinctive and intimate level—one guided by aesthetic sensibility rather than external constraints or problem-solving imperatives. Departing from conventional user-driven methodologies, his furniture explores form as a personal language, shaped by freedom, intuition, and authenticity.
Remaining closely linked to interior architecture, Sencer draws upon years of professional experience to inform his artistic approach. His furniture occupies a space between function and expression, where craftsmanship, proportion, and materiality converge. Through this practice, he reinterprets design not as a response, but as a reflection—articulated through objects conceived from his own perspective.
